Professor Vasarhelyi is the KPMG Distinguished Professor of Accounting Information Systems and serves as Director of the Rutgers Accounting Research Center (RARC) & Continuous Auditing & Reporting Lab (CAR Lab). He is one of the leading researchers in the field of accounting information systems and created the original continuous audit application. Rutgers AIS has been ranked # 1 in the world for over 25 years.
Professor Vasarhelyi has published more than 250 journal articles and 25 books. He is the editor of the Artificial Intelligence in Accounting and Auditing series and the Journal of Emerging Technologies in Accounting. His achievement demonstrates his significant contribution to the profession. He was chosen as the Outstanding Accounting Educator by the American Accounting Association in 2015, Outstanding manuscript award of 2021 of the AAA/AICPA and received ISACA’s Wasserman Award among many distinctions.
